The UK Stock Market awards (www.stockmarketawards.com), now in their 8^th year, are firmly established as one of the leading award ceremonies for UK publicly listed companies, the individuals behind them and the advisers who ably assist them. The awards are unique as they offer the private investment community the chance to have their say on who they believe to have created true shareholder value.

 

The shortlist has been compiled by senior individuals from the world of corporate finance, law, financial services, accounting, public relations and media. Each person has experience with companies on the stock market, either as an investor, adviser, analyst or journalist.

 

The factors each person will have considered when putting forward their choices include;

 

• How the share price has performed
• Has management acumen played a key part in the company/individual success
• Has any M&A activity had an impact on the overall performance
• Have decisions made this year impacted on the growth potential for the following year
• Has a company outperformed their sector peers in what has otherwise been difficult market conditions

 

The next step in the awards process is for a 4 week public vote to take place. The voting commenced on April 26^th 2018 and will finish on May 25^th 2018.

 

The voters are HNW investors, predominantly customers of AJ Bell* and Shares magazine.

 

Once voting comes to an end all votes will be counted and the companies and individuals that received the most votes during the voting period will be the ones announced as the respective category winners at the black-tie gala awards ceremony on Monday 25^th June 2018.

 

The awards ceremony will take place at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane Hotel in London.
